Valencia Basket returns to La Fonteta to make the tragedy visible and to ensure that those affected

Valencia Basket men’s team returns to play at the Fonteta to face Cedevita Olimpija Ljubljana (Tuesday, 12th, 20:30h, Fonteta, #Vamos) in a BKT EuroCup round 8 game.

 

The team approaches the game motivated to continue raising awareness of the tragedy and to carry out new initiatives to help those affected by the DANA storm that devastated our province two weeks ago.

 

As this is the first home game for our professional teams since the disaster, the pre-match atmosphere will have a very special emotional weight, with a heartfelt tribute to the victims and several initiatives aimed at raising awareness so that the needs of the affected individuals are not forgotten, as they continue to urgently require all possible support.

 

In purely sporting terms, Valencia Basket will try to extend its good form in this competition and its strong performances at home this season to keep its streak of results alive, which now stands at nine consecutive wins, against an opponent they have never defeated in the two previous encounters.

 

The team will have the same injury absences as last week’s game in Thessaloniki, with Filipovic (back) and Happ (right foot and adductor) ruled out for this match. Point guard Chris Jones continues his gradual return to training after undergoing surgery on his right hand in the summer, although he has not yet been included in any matchday squad.

 

Valencia Basket starts this eighth round in first place in Group B, with a 6-0 record and a pending game against 7Bet-Lietkabelis Panevezys at the Fonteta.
